ELECTIVES
Elective courses at HOPE Academy enhance and expand what we offer in core classes. These graded electives are available to middle and high school students and vary from year to year, providing students with opportunities to discover new interests, develop skills, and grow in confidence. Art
Upper school art places an emphasis on creativity inspired by a Biblical worldview. Students may produce collaborative and individual artworks during project-based learning and teacher-instructed content. In this class, students learn:

Law
This course introduces students to the foundations of law and government, exploring legal principles, civic responsibility, and ethics through a Biblical lens. Students develop critical thinking skills and learn how law influences daily life and society. Topics may include:

PE (Physical Education)
Physical Education provides students with the opportunity to develop strength, agility, teamwork, and confidence through various fitness and recreational activities. Classes focus on health, wellness, and sportsmanship while encouraging students to honor Christ with their physical abilities.
Theatre
Upper school theatre provides students with the opportunity to develop their public speaking, clear communication, confidence, and understanding of how others think and feel. Students learn the basics of stagecraft and stretch themselves as they try new things, take risks, and put themselves out there. Previous theatre class sections have put on productions, written their own scripts, or created characters for a sustained sitcom project. In this class, students learn:

Yearbook
The High School Yearbook class creates a team responsible for HOPE’s student-produced yearbook. Topics such as high-quality sources of information, best practices for interviews, story development, caption writing, editing, and basic graphic design are covered by the instructor in the first quarter. The remaining class time is spent on planning, gathering information/content, and designing the yearbook. Students assist in:
