Admissions Process & Checklist
We are grateful for your interest in HOPE Academy and look forward to getting to know your family throughout the admissions process. Please review the steps and requirements below before beginning your application.
1. Complete the Online Application
Please complete each section thoughtfully and thoroughly. Your application is our first opportunity to learn more about your student, your family, and what draws you to HOPE Academy.
Student Questionnaire
Your student will have an opportunity to share about themselves in their own words. We love learning more about each child’s personality, interests, experiences, and unique gifts.
Three References
You will provide the names and email addresses of three non-family references:
- Personal: Someone who knows your family or student well
- Spiritual: A pastor, church elder, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, or spiritual mentor
- Educational: Your student’s most recent teacher in a core subject or, when applicable, a preschool or daycare teacher. For homeschooled students, a tutor, co-op instructor, or teacher is preferred when available.
After submitting the application, log back into the admissions portal to enter your references. The system will automatically email each reference a confidential form to complete.
Application Fee
A non-refundable $200 application fee is required to submit your application. You must submit a new application and fee for each admissions year.
Submitting an application does not guarantee that a student will advance to the next step in the admissions process or receive an offer of admission.
2. Complete Your Application Checklist
Submit Required Documents
Applicants entering 1st grade and above must submit their most recent report card and any available standardized test results. We may request additional documents based on the student’s grade level or educational history.
Apply for Tuition Assistance, If Needed
We recommend submitting your admissions application before applying for tuition assistance. Once your application is complete, visit our Tuition Assistance page for eligibility information, deadlines, and next steps.
Any tuition assistance awarded through NCSEAA will be applied beginning with the August-drafted tuition payment or toward the remaining tuition balance. It does not replace the enrollment fee or first month’s tuition required at enrollment.
Monitor Your Application
Log in to your admissions portal at any time to review your checklist and track your application’s progress. Our Admissions Team will contact you if additional information or documentation is needed.
3. Application Review and Next Steps
Once all required materials have been received, our Admissions Team will prayerfully and thoughtfully review your application.
Selected families may be invited to participate in a family interview or complete additional admissions steps based on the student’s grade level. These steps may include an academic assessment or student visit.
Families will receive updates by email or phone as the process continues. Admission decisions are communicated according to the decision timeline for each grade and as space becomes available.
Submitting an application does not guarantee an interview, advancement to another step, or an offer of admission.
4. If Admission Is Offered
Complete the Enrollment Packet
Families who receive and accept an offer of admission will receive an enrollment packet. The packet and required payments must be submitted by the stated deadline to secure the student’s place.
Submit the Enrollment Fee and First Month’s Tuition
A non-refundable enrollment fee of $250 per student, capped at $500 per family, and the first month’s tuition are due within 10 days of accepting an offer of admission. Summer-enrolling families will also pay their student's Resource Fee at the time of enrollment.
Select a Tuition Payment Option
After the initial enrollment fee and first month’s tuition are paid, families may pay the remaining tuition balance in full or through 10 equal monthly payments. NCSEAA Opportunity Awarded families will select the monthly payment option. Please note there is no discount for paying in full. Complete payment information will be provided in the enrollment packet and in Finalsite Parent Portal.
A separate, non-refundable Resource fee is due in June. Please review our Tuition & Fees information for current amounts and additional details.
Important Admissions Information
At HOPE Academy, each application is prayerfully and thoughtfully reviewed with great care. We consider each student and family as we seek to discern whether HOPE can provide the right partnership, learning environment, and support for the child.
While we would love to serve every family who applies, HOPE Academy may not be the right fit for every student. When that is the case, we seek to communicate our decision with clarity, care, and respect.
Families must provide complete and accurate information throughout the admissions process. This includes academic and educational records, statements of faith, learning needs, diagnoses, accommodations, behavioral history, and any other information relevant to the student’s educational experience and support needs.
If information is withheld, incomplete, or inconsistent with information later provided or discovered, HOPE Academy reserves the right to pause or discontinue the admissions process or, when necessary, revoke an offer of admission or enrollment.
HOPE Academy reserves the right to conclude the admissions process at any stage as we seek to uphold our mission, admissions standards, and ability to support each student successfully.
